During the pandemic period in 2020, when all facilities were completely closed, the Science Camp and a few creative centers around the world continued working tirelessly to innovate solutions and create ways to face the pandemic locally and provide these ideas and designs for use The science camp designed and produced an efficient and fast-produced mask, as it produced more than 13,000 protective masks that were distributed to medical personnel, delivery workers, and service personnel who were not covered by the quarantine. The design of the Science Camp protective mask was characterized by ease, efficiency, and no need for any fasteners, as the design provided the ability to be used efficiently without the need for adhesives or fasteners through the idea of self-linking used in the design. The Science Camp design was adopted in six other countries and thousands of copies were produced due to the adoption of the Science Camp production method using laser cutters instead of the relatively slow 3D printers… Science Camp’s efforts in designing & producing thousands of protective masks were documented in the Viral Design book printed in Spain, Science Camp’s mask was exhibited at the Innovations Against the Pandemic exhibition in Vienna.
